I can't sign in — what should I do?
First, make sure you're using the same sign-in method (Google or Apple) you used to create your account. If you still can't get in, email us with your account email and the sign-in method you used and we'll take a look.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
You can delete your account directly from the app: Account tab → scroll to the bottom and tap Account → Delete Account. See the step-by-step guide for screenshots and details on what gets removed.
If you can't access the app, email sidestep@mzappworks.dev from the address tied to your account and we'll process the request within 30 days. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete backend data.
I lost a journal entry / photo / memory. Can you recover it?
If your content was synced before it disappeared, there's a good chance we can recover it. Email us with your account email and a description of what's missing (and roughly when it was created) and we'll investigate.
How do I report a bug?
Use the Report a bug card above — it pre-fills a template with the fields we need (device, OS version, app version, steps to reproduce). Screenshots or screen recordings are gold.
Is Sidestory free? Are there paid features?
The app is free to use today. We may introduce optional premium features in the future — existing free features will not be removed without prior notice. See our Terms of Service for details.
How is my data stored and protected?
Your account data, sidestories, memories, and photos are stored on our Supabase backend hosted in the European Union, with TLS encryption in transit and row-level security tied to your authenticated user ID. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
